Harringay's gifts to pop
I am bored, so see if you can entertain me.
Did any pop stars, big or small, come from Harringay, or indeed any rubbish punk and indie bands?
Some or all of Travis (remember them?) used to live on the ladder, but beyond that my mind is blank...
Johnny Rotten comes from Finsbury Park but we can't claim him.
Nor can we have Adrian 'Classic' Gurvitz - he is Stoke Newington's.

The only people I know that came from or have lived in Harringay, I've added to a category People from Harringay which I created on Wikipedia. Haven't turned up much for your current search though.
Have a look at the Crouch End page fro Wikipedia. Crouch End Wikipedians are celebrity-obsessed. (At one point, star-spotting had completely taken over an already thin article).
Will be interested to see what you turn up.
I guess all the concerts in Finsbury Park could be part of Harringay's gifts to pop - remember it is in Harringay ward.

Not a gift to pop, granted, but we bought our house on Effingham from Toby Stephens, well known actor and son of Robert Stephens and Dame Maggie Smith. Been a Bond villain in his time even. Plus his wife's in Holby City.

Me and my wife saw Nilgun Canver in Costa coffee and I'll admit we were both quite excited.
Due to Haringey People she is a celebrity to me.

That Gillian Anderson article mentions Hornsey Art College - surely there has to be a few punk veterans from that?

If you widen the scope to include Crouch End, according to Wikipedia there are a host a celebs to point to.

Wire were at Hornsey Art College, but i think it's a push to include them in Harringay, unless they were in digs on the Ladder.
Rumour has it that Prince has a one-bed attic flat on Wightman Road that he uses when he is in London.
Once saw him having a pizza at the London Shelton.

'Sean of the dead' is set mainly on weston park, crouch end. A neat metaphor of zombie insular life in this little hamlet.
