As fans of low-budget, thoughtful sci-fi movies, we settled down to watch the movie Infinitum: Subject Unknown tonight on the TV. To the amusement, and complete lack of surprise, of the others on the sofa, I quickly identified that the film was made in Haringey by the appearance of the bins in one early scene. Not sure my ability to place a film by the look of its bins is a skill to be admired or pitied, I suspect it is the latter.
I won't provide any further clues apart from to say that there are a number of scenes filmed in and around Crouch End, including one that is very close to home indeed in Harringay (no spoilers!).
If you can get over spending some part of the film trying to work out where the London scenes are filmed, it is a very engrossing, enjoyable work and well worth 90 minutes of your time.
Given the way they were forced to film this piece with the minimum of crew and cast and people having to stay in bubbles to do the work, I also think I know what Ian McKellan's curtains look like now.
Infinitum: Subject Unknown is a British film made in 2021 under lockdown conditions, currently showing for free on Prime.
