Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Those of you who saw my photos in Blend a couple of years back may remember that they included a picture of a motorbike on a roof in the Warehouse District.

Harringay got her second bike on a roof this week when Haldun Ozdemir of the soon to open Tramp, took himself off to Southend on Sunday and came back with a 1930's buther's bike. It's now installed on the back addition roof of this increasingly fascinating premises on the corner of Lothair Road and Green Lanes. The picture below was snapped with my trusty iPhone as I went by today.

When (or will) Cafe Tramp ever open?  They've been preparing it for years

Haldun, the owner, has been doing it up in his spare time. What he's created is something pretty unique and special. It's been as much, or perhaps even more, an expression of passion and creativuty as it is a business venture.

He's having the shop sign made right now. I helped him choose some rather unusual fonts. If what is produced is what he hopes it will be, it should give every indication of the uniqueness of what you'll find inside. This stage of pre[aration suggests to me that even but Haldun's exacting standards everything will soon be ready and Tramp should be open after this summer.

There's a provisional opening date at the end of October.
