Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I walked through H Passage this morning from Fairfax to the next road, towards the Salsibury direction(what is it again?) and was about to enter the passage when a tall man ahead of me stopped in the passage and was looking down and fiddling with something(?) and looked at me as if waiting for me... I therefore turned round and walked out of the passage and waited for a bit, then I peeked round the corner and he had walked a bit further and stopped and was looking in my direction again.... what was he up to and why? Was he lurking? Was he a flasher? Was he up to no good or was it all totally innocent?......... Women have to weigh all this up... I was not about to put myself in the position of being alone in the passage with no one else about, but him lurking there....anyone else see him? I waited for a bit and then looked again and he seemed to have gone.......... so carried on walking through.

The passage is NOT SAFE - really in day or night.
I do use it in the day and generally its ok - but I have seen a couple of guys meeting it the passage handing something over to each other and then walking in opposite directions - hmm, wonder what they could be doing...? I won't ever walk down it at night now esp after whats happened recently.
Sounds like two old double agents who haven't heard the Cold War's over, or who just keep meeting furtively for auld lang syne. You're right, paddy. Steer clear of all passages and make right turnings only.
Well its ok in the day generally If you use common sense and can see clearl y, but at night dodgy
This guy seems to strike early mornings though, if same one in each attack. So women beware! Some have suggested he followed last person fr bus up fr Green Lanes.
I use it all the time, including at night. It's fantastic. Don't use it if you don't want to but don't try to put others off.
I think you did the right thing, it's sensible if you feel uncomfortable (she says, having once been followed down there all the way from Green Lanes by a very insistent and creepy guy - did feel vulnerable, and would have been pretty powerless/trapped had he tried anything. Which he didn't, thank goodness) I'd say anyone who looks like they're waiting for you in there is best avoided...

At the same time I do agree that we shouldn't be letting fear stop us going in the passage in general and I do make a point of using it when I can, though not at night. NB the other Saturday lunchtime I saw a couple of guys lurking there who looked like they were dealing - that was between Hampden and Raleigh I think?
