What's Qype? If you want an intro, have a read here of this article.
If you know about it already and are a member, have you joined the Harringay Online on Qype group which has a guide to Harringay that allows you to add your 2p about the places you like to frequent in the neighbourhood?

Oh boy, free Ninja toy. How many more have I got to write to qualify?..I've contributed 1 so far but I did only join this morning, to be fair. I had to add my praise of la Ruche and its splendid birthday cakes.

Great, I've just done a quick write up of Dolcetti's whose siren song of little chocolate pastries and sourcream scones sometimes lure me away from the croissants and baguettes of La Ruche...how fortunate we are to be so spoiled!
I wasn't obsessed with Qype before, but I am now! Since you championed it on HoL yesterday Liz - I've been qype-ing like crazeee!! I've just achieved my "Insider" status - HURRAH! (bit more work to do before I get to Tom's level mind you!)
Yes, freebies and a competitive nature make me give into new networking sites like this every time -
* 14 reviews (5 of which are local-ish)
* 4 feedbacks
* 41 pictures
* 6 first reviews
Now, we've just got to find a cool way to link Qype to HoL so Harringayites can easily access the information without having to post info twice. Hmm...

That's exactly what I had in mind when I set up the Harringay Online Qype group a few months ago Annie. I've been in touch with the guy that runs it, but he seems to see competition and downsides rather than co-operation and upsides. So, for the time being at least, linking will, alas, likely go no further than it currently is.
Hugh, I'm replying to my own post as for some reason I'm not given a "Reply to this" on your post, but a "Send a message" option instead. Not sure what's happened there, but anyhoo, I thought that's probably what you had in mind, but I just thought I'd share my thoughts for anyone new to Qype too and wondering about links and stuff.
Good on you for raising the subject of potential co-linking with the Qype guy - such a shame he's so short sighted, however if we sit tight and he sees more HoL peeps using it, he may well change his mind on the matter...

There are now 6 members of the HOL group whereas when I joined yesterday there were only 2. Not bad going for 24 hours. I'm going to spend the next week being the mystery shopper, I think :)
