Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Harringay aggro - violent incidents in the last 48 hours (March 2009)

It may just be coincidence but:

- Saturday night, someone shot on Cavendish

- Saturday night (10'ish) we see 4 youths walking up Effingham, 2 of them carrying baseball bats (and clearly not off to play baseball)

- Monday night (tonight), police taking photos on Effingham. When asked, they said there was a fight (if anyone knows any more, please let me know)

I saw a gang of youths outside the electrical place on Saturday, shouting and generally being noisy. There was about six of them, one of them with a big piece of wood and they weren't making a bird house! I took some pictures just in case.
i saw an ambulance and police car on effingham at 5.30 today - i asked a bystander across the road what had happened and he signalled with his fist (i.e. there had been a fight). there was a small amount of blood on the floor
Seems there is something going on.
There was a fight outside Tesco last Sunday night (1st) at about 6pm. Blocking our route to the Salisbury! And then this Sunday afternoon I was watching a very long film and so was sat glued to the sofa for about 4 hours. There was an endless parade of groups of youths going up and down the passage. More so than usual.
I saw the same group go past three or four times.
My feeling is that the level of drug dealing is increasing. There have been more people lurking about in the Passage ( perhaps thaat's what all the dumped chairs were for!), and whenever I've been out late in the last couple of weeks there has been lots of activity at the Green Lanes end of Hewitt and Seymour.
Looks like one part of the local economy is doing ok.
I've been blissfully unaware of any of this. Scary. Does Glyn from SNT still come on the site? Haven't seen him post for a while - would be good to know his take on this.
Alison, I tipped the wink to both Glyn and Nilgun Canver earlier this morning and invited them both to comment.
I haven't heard about any shooting on Sat. How confident are you that this has happened? We need factual info. I am sure Glyn can investigate and confirm.
It was on Sunday at about 7.30 pm, my friend a. heard the shots outside her house b. found the road blocked off when we returned from a medicinal pint at 11pm c. had a police escort to her door.
Stay in doors. do not go out. buy stuff.
only joking.
Tuesday night 8pm, youths (14-16yrs old) start kicking off in the Passage (btw Frobisher & Falkland). More than 10 of them. Think two groups came across each other without warning. Bits of fence ripped off to use as weapons. Lots of shouting etc.

I called the police but youths had melted away into the Harringay ether by the time they arrived 5mins later. Three police cars turned up. They are aware of the problem. They went off to do a quick street by street search. See anything .... call them.
I think it was planned. I saw a gang of 10-12 kids all gathered at the bottom of Effingham Road looking like they were waiting for a fight or some trouble, getting very agitated, about 7pm last night. I phoned the police to report it (esp. as this is where the fight was on Monday night) but at 8pm they called me to say they still hadn't been able to get anyone round. I checked and they'd moved on anyway. Obviously to Frobisher/Falkland. There's definitely something going on.
i wonder if this was the same group i saw in Fairland park at 6pm? there were 2 dogs with them and as I went past they were encouraging them to fight (the dogs that is) and then one of the dogs got off the lead and bolted down falkland road
