The newest one I've seen banded about is Harringey. Maybe that is a good compromise?
There are 162 recorded variations in history. Incredibly, a dedicated historian spent 35 years at the start of the last century researching the origins of the name.
Only thirty-five years? Then they barely scratched the surface of this absorbing topic.

Whaaaat?? Have I been pronouncing the name of my local authority wrong??
