Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Haringey Council last night won an award from the local government MJ magazine to recognise its work in making Green Lanes a safer place over the last eight years.

The Public Projection Achievement Award is an awarded to councils for the best work carried out by regulatory services and for innovative good practice.

The award was part of the The MJ Achievement Awards 2010 which saw Plymouth City Council confirmed as the best local authority in the UK.

Well done to the Haringey team.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA! Surely they're not talking about this bit of Green Lanes? Hardly worth an award. If anything it's worse now than when I moved here 7 years ago.
Can anyone tell me who were the judges and how the winners were picked please?
Organised by MJ (Municipal Journal) which is part of the LGA (Local Government Association). A call to their press office should give you the answer.
Done. Many thanks Hugh - hope you're well!
Fine & well thanks.
This is specifically about the action taken following the running street battle with guns in 2002. LBH took a multi-agency approach targeting the 'problem social clubs' ie all those creepy closed-off men's clubs, and from the report, kept busting them for minor infringements using TV licence, display of notices etc regs.

Read the report attached on the MJ article. It's another world.

So have the clubs gone/gone legit? From the report it says they have.
