Here's a round up of Olympics-related events in the borough. The Council are promoting their share as the Haringey 'Cultural Olympiad'.
London 2012 Torch Relay, 25 July, 5:20pm - 6:50pm
Haringey is the final borough on day 68 of the Olympic Flame’s 70 day journey through the UK. A large crowd is anticipated to line the route as the torch makes its journey from Tottenham to Alexandra Palace.
Olympic Torch Relay Evening Celebration at Alexandra Palace, 25 Jul...
LOCOG is hosting an early evening celebration ahead of the Olympic Flame arriving. This will take place in the ice rink car park in the grounds of Alexandra Palace from 5pm. Access to the event is by ticket only. The entertainment will be provided by Haringey Young Musicians, and wil also include singer Loick Essien, acrobatics and dance performances. The event will culminate in the arrival of the Olympic Flame just before 7pm

The Olympic torch visits HARINGEY - dance till you drop, watch movies and watch fabulous performances.

Torch Relay Free Sport & Music Festival, 25 July, 1pm – 6pm
A free festival offering a range of free sport, music and arts activities for all the family and culminating in the opportunity to watch the torch as it passes along Bruce Grove and Lordship Lane. The event will feature a wide range of sports, including a blow-up athletics track and Panna theatre, as well as drum workshops, circus arts and music performances. As part of the celebrations we will be hosting a “Walk a Mile” to promote global tolerance as part of the 2012 Hours Against Hate campaign.

Sporting tree sculptures in Alexandra Park, 27th - 29th July
A number of tree stems will be carved by chainsaw over two weekends in Alexandra Park. The sculptures will have a sporting theme to reflect the action at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Each tree sculpture will be carved in a single day.
Bouncy Stonehenge at Ally Pally, 10th August
A bouncy scale model of Stonehenge, specially commissioned to mark the Olympics, is coming to Ally Pally in August.
It was created by Turner Prize winning artist Jeremy Deller, who said it represented Britain's history, culture and sense of humour.
Haringey Cultural Olympiad
Ooooh Art: Haringey’s Olympic Art Collection, 25 July- 23 September
Showcasing the works of 11 Haringey artists, the collection is designed to reflect the sporting disciplines and values of the Olympic and Paralympic Games across a range of media. Artists created one work alone and one with local school children.
Bruce Castle Museum
PARK ART- in Haringey, 25 July – 23 Sept
A borough-wide exhibition bringing innovative public art to Haringey at three local parks. The exhibition features both commissioned and loaned contemporary sculpture. Funded by the Arts Council.

A celebration of 100 years of excellence, achievement and ambition charting the past, present and future of Haringey’s sporting heritage.

PARAde, 26 August
A family day celebrating disability sports and arts, this event will feature live street acts and a market-style event offering activity tasters from arts and sports organisations that work with disabled people. The event will also feature performances from local disability arts groups and attendance by athletes.

Music Festival, September (TBC)
Haringey’s first music festival, which will take places at venues along the Tottenham High Road in early September to celebrate the thriving local music industry. The festival will feature performances from established and emerging bands which originate from or have recorded in Haringey.

Olympics Project Tottenham, Film Festival, September
The Film Festival will showcasing the thriving local film industry and will show films made in Haringey, featuring Haringey or stored in Haringey archives. The festival includes opportunities for community groups to curate a film programme in a local venue.

The Council is working with partners to put on a packed programme of activities for young people, children and families this summer– from football lessons to film workshops and DJ-ing to summer camps.
Leisure Centres and Libraries
