Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Councillor Nilgun Canver unveiling the Haringey in Bloom Competition

Haringey in Bloom is a council-run competition, sponsored by the Sunshine Garden Centre. It seeks to encourage and reward residents, businesses, schools, voluntary and community groups who take pride in their environment by brightening up and improving the borough using floral and shrub displays.

This year there are incentives to enter (including money-off vouchers) provided by the Sunshine Garden Centre and council run Wolves Lane Nursery.

Award Categories include:

This year the Council aims to encourage all gardeners to make the most of Haringey's green spaces and think about the ways in which they garden and encourage biodiversity. Judges will look and judge each entry on whether it is sustainable and does the most it can to encourage wildlife, as well as the impact the colour and use of plants has on its immediate area.

Sustainable gardening is about creating green areas that attract and encourage wildlife to thrive and that contribute to the enhancement of local biodiversity. Tips to help you garden sustainably are on the Council website here.

Winners of Haringey in Bloom may form part of Haringey Council's submission to the London in Bloom competition, where your efforts may be recognised as being among some of the best in London.

To enter, visit the award categories page, find out which award you can enter and what supporting evidence you need to submit, complete the application form and submit your entry by email before Friday 12 July 2013.
