Haringey grants for olympic themed events and projets

Haringey Council Press Release:

Community and voluntary groups are invited to apply for grants through the council's the Local Opportunities Fund for projects and events that will help create a carnival atmosphere to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Grants of between £500 and £2,000 are available for activities which focus on education, culture and sport and involve local communities in celebrating the Games.

Projects could be anything from street parties to sports events and from performance to arts and crafts and should incorporate at least one of the seven Olympic and Paralympic values of respect; excellence; friendship; courage; determination; inspiration, and equality.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on 21 May and successful applicants will be notified by June 1. All successful projects will need to take place between July 1 and September 30, 2012.
