It’s worth looking at how the number of police officers in London (and in particular Haringey) has fallen.

                       London         Haringey

2016               18043           609

2017               16902           575

2018               15775           533

So London, just in the past three years, has lost 2268 officers - Haringey lost 76.  While the announcement of 13 new recruits coming to work in the borough is welcome, we’re not even standing still.

We lost police officers because of the massive debts left by the last Labour government. Austerity was required to pay off their legacy of debt. Corbyn recently promised to overspend again if he won. Now we are not going to waste £13bn each year on the failing EU we can spend more on the police and NHS. We would not need so many police officers if the law was tougher on gangs, knife crime and soft drugs. Fortunately, Boris, after his landslide election win, has promised to invest in the police and give longer prison terms to the criminals who keep the police busy. Expect more big benefits from Boris and the growing economy he will boost.

Of course, the world economic crisis was the fault of the U.K. government. Forgot that.

Maybe Neil is the only person never to have heard of Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac?

Neil, what are you doing on here? Is there an election coming?

The government has been cutting the number of police officers because they believe in small government, not because they cannot afford them. They're now advertising on the tube to hire them again for even more money than they were paying new recruits before, without admitting they made a mistake.

The Labour Party were last in government nearly a decade ago. You cannot blame problems with crime and policing on them.

You may have noticed that interest rates are at historical lows (since their invention 5,000 years ago) and still nobody is borrowing to invest. Monetary policy is the control of interest rates and money supply, that is not working. Fiscal policy is the control of spending, even the Tories are about to get into that.

After "failing EU" you're essentially ranting like Donald Trump.

Seriously, are you standing for the Conservative Party in White Hart Lane again next May?

Big issue with crime is not only loss of Police officers

Is the issues that many Courts was Closed Down

Resulting with increased numbers on Police Bail

Many for many months and committing even more crimes

Then getting to Court and Only charged for the Worst Offence

Then getting a suspended Sentence

How does that deter Crime and protect Life

That’s true Bob.  End to end the criminal justice system has been bled dry

Noticed in recent days that there have been Police Motorcyclists riding around

Riding High end Trial Bikes with the Loudest Sirens I have herd

Hope they stay in area

Seems to have reduced a few speedy riders racing around the Area

Is Neil living on the same planet as the rest of us? can't he read a newspaper?

Fact is SO last decade Peter!

Which planet was Peter on during the election?

The voters backed my views with a landslide. My views come from Boris and the best selling newspapers. Both will continue to dominate the popularity stakes for years to come while alternative views drift in the wilderness.

Neil - If everything is as you say it is, please explain why there has been no announcement of the £350 million monthly injection into the NHS budget, as promised by Boris Johnson, starting from 1 February.
