Haringey Gambling Policy Consultation
All councils are required to produce, consult and publish a policy which sets out how they manage their duties under the Gambling Act 2005. The council’s current policy runs out in January 2016 so they are required to publish a new policy.
The Council says that because the Gambling Commission is currently revising their guidance to Local Authorities, which is likely to have an impact on any policy they introduce, they are proposing to re-adopt the current Statement of Gambling Policy - 2016 (PDF 579KB) until they can carry out a further review at a later date, which will take the revised Gambling Commission’s advice into account.
The Council says they welcome your views and, where appropriate, will amend the Policy to take them into account. The deadline for responses is 19 October 2015.

Pavlos, my understanding is that, other things equal, the policy will not change or at least it is not proposed that there be changes. This Public Consultation is a consultation that is required every three years by Statute.
In arguably one of the worst pieces of legislation pushed for and passed by the final New Labour Government, their Gambling Act (2005) paved the way for the socially corrosive Fixed Odds Betting Terminals that now account for about half of betting shops' profits.
This was perhaps New Labour's biggest single contribution to poverty and increasing inequality.
Also, in their determination to normalise gambling, that government also said that, in respect of Applications for betting shop premises licences – that the Licensing Authority (councils) should "aim to permit". Their friends in the gambling industry must have thought all their Christmases had come at once.
In respect of the any comments that you might have, I think that you should say anything you like, provided that it's on point, not libellous, doesn't swear and doesn't use all capital letters.
