It will probably end up being "written off" as is the case with so many "easy come easy go" public funded elements and of course no one will be held accountable for such a financial waste/loss of tax payers money!

They all look like sensible projects. No idea why every school street has to be consulted on to death anymore - its obvious from all the ones already in place what works and what exemptions need to be in place for residents and blue badge holders.

Is it legal requirement to actually have some money left after the multi consultation periods and actually have a positive outcome like you promised your funders?

Well in Tower Hamlets they've had a bunch of money taken away because they've taken out some of the changes to favour the dominance of cars on the streets over people.

Is the criticism that all or some of these projects are "waste". Could you please say a little as to why?
And is money spent on consulting residents also (always?) waste as well?
Or is the problem simply spending public money on public projects per se?
I resigned from the Labour Party some time ago and have (and had) no problem challenging mistaken policies - locally and nationally. (Under my real name too.) Sometimes joining marches against them.

Apparently at the last consultation (forth) they admitted there isn’t enough money left to really do what people were consulted on, nor did the consultations actually shine any decent light on what people wanted. Probably because the same 27 people came to the same four events that costs hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Maybe we need a consultation on consultations?

They have spent a lot of money narrowing the road/widening the pavements/adding planters & cycle lanes on Mayes Road just behind Shopping City. This will make the adjacent pedestrian crossing significantly safer to use when the work has finished. And road narrowing/landscaping has commenced on Caxton Gardens.

That wasn’t what people asked for on the four consultations. They did four consultations and spent it how they wanted, on things they should have been doing anyway.

Is it a confirmed fact that the "same 27 people came to the same four events"? Were you one of these assiduous 27? Did you make one or more proposals and if so for what?
I didn't attend these events. But just four events costing "hundreds of thousands of pounds" doesn't match any Haringey consultation I've been to over many years. (And I went to lots.) They were sometimes imaginative and creative. I occasionally had conversations with intelligent thoughtful staff who seemed keen to make genuine improvements.
Other consultations were poorly organised and a bit chaotic. Occasionally there were ignorant staff and consultants who were challenged - sharply, though politely - by me or other residents
I took photos and sometimes made recordings when I realised we were hearing bullshit. Because I dislike mobile phones I bought my own cheap pocket cameras and a voice recorder. I posted stuff online as EMC2 has done, above
The best consultations were followed-up with a report and a summary of suggestions and points raised. In other words the process was recorded. Informal Citizen accurate recording and informed comment improves this process.

Four consultations to spend 2 million quid and we have pavement being fixed? Who asked for that in these consultations ? Who queued up and said ‘I would really like you just to simply fix the road’?
