This is a message from the Haringey Emergency Alert Service.
Please be aware that the Met Office have issued an Amber Warning for High Winds, affecting the London area from tonight into Tuesday morning.
Wind speeds are expected to reach gale or severe gale force during the early hours of Tuesday, with gusts of 65-75 mph.
In addition an Amber Warning for Heavy Rain has been issued as spells of rainfall are expected to affect London overnight and into Christmas Eve, clearing the southeast of England before dawn.
This will fall onto saturated ground and could lead to a risk of flooding.
What you can do:
- Stay in touch with weather forecasts.
- Plan journeys carefully, and check travel advice.
- Bring inside or secure loose items and any Christmas decorations that might fly around in the wind.
