I'm a local cycling instructor working in Haringey and local boroughs. I've been closely following the discussions about Wightman Road and London Borough of Haringey promotion of active/sustainable transport. One of the ways to increase the number of people cycling as transport is to increase the number of people cycling; seeing other people cycling on-road *can* help us feel more confident to cycle ourselves.
Therefore please come and join a led cycle ride on Saturday 10 August to celebrate 150 years of Finsbury Park. We will meet at 1030am in Lordship Rec and cycle through Haringey to Finsbury Park. This led ride (free, obviously) is open to all levels. It could be a way to introduce your children to the idea cyclists are allowed on the road :-) It could be a way to experience cycling on-road if you are usually put off by the amount of motor traffic on the road. It will also be a fun way to see the borough on a Saturday :-)
Meet other local people interested in cycling. All ages and abilities welcome. Led rides are great fun!
