Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just over a year ago, I wrote a post heaping opprobrium on the Council and Railtrack for failing to deal with anything on Hampden Road due to a standoff about who's responsible for anything on the road, to the west of the New River bridge. Then last month I noticed that Railtrack was posting notices about forthcoming parking enforcement.

Today, as I walked past, enforcement was just starting: the first ticket was just being issued.

It seems that most people had taken notice of the posted arnigs and only a handful were still parked.

On my way back past, an hour later, only the silver BMW remained.

Hi Hugh. i notice the silver bmw does not appear to be parked on road markings or is this covered by the warning notices ?

It doesn’t matter: from the bridge westwards, It’s a private road. As long as they’ve posted notices they can issue a ticket - legally it’s a bill for an assumed contract, rather than a fine.

ah ok cheers hugh that's very interesting
