It seems Haringey Labour's online aggressor, Emina Ibrahim (formerly of this parish), has had her twitter account hacked today. These are not serious people.

Harringay ward candidate Olly's mummy, Melanie Gingell, has been successfully elected as a councillor in Alexandra Park. Labour love to keep it in the family.

Jamie Harper,

Why the pointless nastiness? Do you know anything factual about this family?
I have never met either of them, by the way.

But I can tell anyone who who wants to know that, from my own sixteen years as an elected councillor, the most productive joint working across party and across the council, depended on mutual respect, mutual listening, and basic common courtesies.

Well said Alan. No need for it to get personal.

Is she not his mother, Alan? And please save us your version of your political past. Those with memories know well enough how fickle your 'respect' of other councillors was.

Jamie Harper, I know nothing of Ollie's mother. You still haven't answered my question about why the nastiness. Try kindness instead.

Of course, like everyone else I have different views of my own past. Partly because my life has changed. But mainly because of the people I have been lucky enough to know and respect and love. And very very lucky to learn from them.

Maybe you think you know me. I doubt that's true.
Or I'm wrong and you use a pseudonym. Do reveal the mystery of "those with memories".
I do hope it's not some sad grudge by ex-councillors.
Why bother?  Nobody even recognises me or other such grey heads any more.

Tottenham Hale's three seats have all gone to Green.

Crouch End's three seats gone to Lib Dem. Could Haringey end up NOC?

Why are so many wards taking so long to declare?

Possible recounts if the result is on knife edge? It's very frustrating it's taking this long!

HAVING been at a Count at AP when I had a personal interest in the outcome and seen many completed ballot papers, I know also that not all electors mark their boxes unambiguously.

The general test is: is the voter's intention clear?

Split ballots?

The Straights (Party vote) are divided from the splits as they're easier to count reliably and safely. The Splits are tabulated and counted separately and extra carefully otherwise, with a mixture of Parties, mistakes would be made more easily.

If things are tight, then there will be re-counts.

The first few Wards to Declare were all two Member Wards with many fewer votes to count; most are three-Member Wards.
