Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I'll be avoiding all the local shops on Green Lanes after my experience today. No clue about social distancing or understanding what 2 meters apart means.

I was in Yasir Halim and had staff brush past me. Customers way too close with no proper markings separating people. It's like the news has just washed over them.

Walking down Green Lanes felt like I was taking my life in my hands (even more than usual) with  people not making way for others. The staff of the grocery stores standing in the middle of the street. It's shocking and I'll be sticking to Sainsbury's and other stores where they actually have some sort of orderly system.

I'm shocked that the Tesco express is not being used as much compared to Iceland.

The cues are always short when I go and they are fully stocked with higher quality products than Iceland....

I suppose because Iceland is cheaper

On a positive note, I have been running around the local north London area, on social distancing patrol. And I am happy to say that here in green lanes we are near the top. Kentish Town, and Islington were about the worst. Clearly posh people think they are immune.

I’m thankful, as an nhs worker, I get to jump the queue, so I can get in and out for my weekly shop in about 10mins. Far more worrying for me, is how long people spend in shops, taking their time, trying to decide, blbla

Don’t assume, that as you are 2 metres distance inside, or that someone happens to be wearing a face mask(usually incorrectly), that you are safe. Far from it

Good advice.  I get in and out as fast as possible.

I had to go to Boots at Wood Green and their management of people wishing to go in was exemplary.  They had someone walking the queue to make sure distance was kept, asked people if they had a prescription to collect or if they wanted general shopping and then handled each of these needs differently so queues didn’t form for a second time at the pharmacy counter and they were generally polite and helpful.  As a result people in the queue seemed generally happy to wait. Hats off to them.

Yes my experience of Boots stores I have been in has been a positive one. It's calm and well managed. It's the opposite of what I have witnessed in the shops round here

Rubbish

I was down there yesterday and today

everyone I saw was practising healthy protocols

maybe the odd one

iii - perhaps things have improved since I posted that - almost 3 weeks ago! However when I have had to go past the odd local shop it did not look that much better to me
