I was intrigued this week to receive a flyer advertising "Stella's Greek Kitchen". This is not a new restaurant but a click & collect or delivery service operating out of an address in St Ann's Road.
As we live in Harringay, I should add that Greek in this case refers to the mainland not to Cyprus so this is not the return of Greek Cypriot cuisine to Harringay but something else. I spoke last evening to Stella's Yanis and learned that he hails from Epirus (ie the North Western part of mainland Greece where Lord Byron met Ali Pasha, ruler of Janina in 1809).
When, at 3pm, I first looked at their web-site (www.stellasgreekkitchen.co.uk) it told me that moussaka was sold out but I later learned by e-mail that, before evening, moussaka would again be available so this is what I had for dinner. Delivered to my door by Yanis on his electric scooter. Everything well packed, no plastic.
The menu is not large but I am happy to say that the moussaka and salad were delicious.
I note that Stella's is also offering catering services and I would be interested to hear of any experiences relating to that.
