Grants available for funding Sports Activities
Applications for PlaySport London: Free Sport Round 2 are open from now until Friday 8 October and grants of up to £1,500 are available to successful applicants.
PlaySport London: Free Sport, as part of the Mayor’s Plan ‘A Sporting Future for London’, aims to provide free sporting opportunities to Londoners.
The PlaySport London: Free Sport programme provides grant funding to sports clubs and community groups in order to encourage greater participation in sport in the build up to and legacy from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Funding available
Sports clubs and organisations, youth and community groups can apply for grants of up to £1,500 and to receive extra information and marketing materials to make their activities even more successful. The aim of PlaySport London: Free Sport is to increase the number of people regularly taking part in sport across the capital, with a particular focus on participants receiving 6 hours or more coaching as a result of taking part in the programme.

During the application process a number of surgeries will be held by the Pro-Active Partnerships within each Pro-Active region (North, South, East, West and Central London www.pro-activelondon.org). Funding is available for a variety of sports and physical activities. A key focus of the 2010 programme is to provide 6+ hours of quality coaching to participants to provide a better quality of experience and encourage on-going participation in sport.
