David Lammy's done plenty to represent our views on this one, including issuing a statement that began: 'Wake up. We do not have to do this. We can stop this madness through a vote in Parliament.'

I agree. When I retweeted him earlier, his tweet had already been liked and retweeted 6,000 times. It's now at 12,000/10,000.

Looks like he's now basically leading the campaign on this line of thought.

Brave move.

I'd say it's a safe populist move in this constituency, but very welcome all the same. Braver will be holding Corbyn to account for his part in this bloody disaster and so help move us towards an election, one of only two ways we're likely to get a second bite at the apple.

Yes, that does seem like an outcome worth pursuing.

Labour delivered 63% of their supporters for a 'remain' vote while the Tories delivered only 42% for a 'remain' vote so this should be firmly on the Conservatives doorstep.

2.3 million as of 9.15 on Saturday ... 14,000 from Hornsey and WG, 7,000 Tottenham.

.......and now 2.5 million.

Genuine question: can't we have a general election? It doesn't feel right to have a non-elected person representing our exit deal. Also, it's a good time for the Left (cards on the table: I'm a Labour Party member) to sweep to victory with help of other leftie allies (Greens etc). How would even go back mounting pressure to call a General Election?
Because of the change to the law the Tories made, an early election has to have the support of 2/3rds of the house of commons. At least I read that today. So both parties would need to be super confident of a win to invoke this.

It would certainly be the right and proper thing to do. We can hope and let our views be known.

But the piece of paper that Cameron came back from Brussels with is now null and void.

If the U.K.remains (wants to remain) it will be on new terms (Brussels terms).

Brussels commisioners are like headmasters, sick to death of the unruly student and want to expel him for ever.
