Just before the end of the Autumn Term, South Harringay Junior School were pleased to announce the result from their November Ofsted inspection.
South Harringay Junior School was found to be good with the behaviour and safety of the pupils found to be outstanding.
The key findings:
The latest report (29-30 November 2012) does not yet appear to be published online at Ofsted but copies of the latest full report can be obtained from the school in the New Year (there may be a small charge for printing it). Parents at the school have all been given a copy.
On a personal note: As a parent of a 9 year old currently attending the school, it is very pleasing that the inspectors have come to such positive conclusions about South Harringay Junior. The new Headteacher, Ian Scotchbrook, and his team have worked hard this year to achieve this result and the students have responded brilliantly to the challenges set before them. A good local school is a team effort and so I'm sure parents will join me in congratulating South Harringay Junior on a wonderful start to 2013.

This is a welcome and well-deserved tribute to the hard work of the Head, the staff and the governing body.
One thing which stands out (for me) is that no matter where you cast your eye when you are within the school, you are bound to learn something.
Once at a meeting I looked up and saw diagrams of solid geometrical shapes which had been strung across the ceiling. It was only then that I realised that the faces of a dodecahedron are pentagonal. Yes, even day-dreaming is put to productive use here.
Well done Ian and everybody else!
