Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Good hairdresser in Harringay
I really need to have my highlights re-done. I usually go home (Newcastle) to the person who has been doing my hair since I was 14 but don't have time at the moment. Any recommendations?

I recommend Mel at Vintage Hair - right by Harringay Station on Quernmore Rd. It's a lovely little salon. Mel and her sister Shenel are both excellent.

I took you up on your suggestion in November and was very happy with the results. Wanted to go back but just seen a note in the door that they have closed down!!! Where shall I go now????

Yes, very sad that Vintage hair is no more. Last day was last Friday, I was Mel's last hair customer there. She's having a baby and the owner wanted to be rid of the salon it seems. I will have to look for somewhere else now but Mel will be a hard act to follow.

I know this is an old thread but if anyone is still looking, I went to Thumbelina on Philip Lane N15 today and was very happy indeed. Best haircut for a long time and about half the price I paid recently elsewhere.

Couldn't find that out, perhaps we should keep an eye on it especially if any attempt to change from retail/service to residential.

I've started going to Ali at the salon opposite Homebase car park, near the Beconsfield. I can't remember the name of the salon but it's the one that also sells perfume. Been really happy with my last 2 cuts and he's nice to chat to. I've got shoulder length hair with layers and i think it was about £35. On both occasions the blow dry has been amazing and has lasted several days.

That's the one I meant, Eva Hair & Beauty, couldn't remember the name. Ali is brilliant! There's also a nice young guy who gave me a head massage as he was washing my hair.

Thanks for the recommendation for Eva Hair & Beauty. I went in today for my highlights to be re-done and was very impressed. Lovely colour, great advice and exactly the cut I wanted. Lots of care taken by Ali to get it right. Not cheap but as I really love my hair, great value for money! Highly recommended!
