Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Have just received this info from Cllr Robert Gorrie on this matter which explains that Network Rail unlikely to submit a planning application until March. This is separate to the giant cleaning shed development on Wightman Road.

No, we have no plans for a giant cleaning shed development on Wightman Road. Width forbids.

The from/To device is used by many sending group emails to disguise the ID of recipients, not just Robert Gorrie. I may have got the exact location incorrect but as a resident of Hornsey I am unfamiliar with every street along the Ladder (as non residents of the Campsbourne estate may be unaware of every road here). Nevertheless there IS a planning application for a large railway carwash type installation and certainly some residents nearby were sent Planning Application consultation letters by the council. This has previously been posted on HoL as follows

Perhaps you are not close enough to the this development to be affected and therefore were not written to? But as there has been some general confusion (deliberate by the authorities perhaps?) there has been a deal of communication about the developments in Hornsey, especially the New River estate which will be severely impacted by the maintenance shed development.

Rail Depot, behind Wightman Road - Planning Application

The planning application for this closes tomorrow, Wednesday should anyone want to comment. This is a small proposal that the Network Rail one at Hornsey but could have implications for those living by the railway.

Both previous posts refer, as i did to Wightman Road - so too narrow or not, unless objected to by residents, it may well be constructed there. 

ho - hum.
But the Planning Application for the Hornsey Depot cleaning shed has been withdrawn.

As long as they do a good job (and I'd be interested to hear how much noise residents of Wightman Rd get from the existing sheds), I just don't see a problem. This was for Thameslink to have longer trains right?

The Network Rail developments at Hornsey Depot and Coronation Sidings are back on track. ( sorry )

There are to be two public information sessions at the West Indian Cultural Centre, just about opposite the north end of Wightman Road, on:

Friday 28th January 16.00 - 20.00

Saturday 29th January 10.00 - 14.30.

Thanks John D - but are these sessions for the New River Maintenance Sheds (rather than Wightman Rd cleaning shed)?

If for New River i wonder why the First Capital Connect person at the Area Assembly had no idea when and how residents would be consulted.

 

Apparently they are for both.
As the Council is so keen to promote public transport I assume that they will be supporting this proposal. Surely they can't be two faced enough to clamp down on motorists whilst at the same time having sustainability and public transport growth targets.  Not supporting this proposal would from a Council policy perspective seem contradictory to say the least.

Update - invite letters about information sessions have gone out from Network Rail to Councillors, M.P.s and heads of various pressure groups. But not to potentially affected residents.

This reply in no way explains who has been informed and why residents of Campsfield Rd have not routinely been notified. I must have missed the notices in local press! And what "list" is the council using? One with very few names on it I expect
