One of the benefits of living around here is the plethora of cheap available old skool barbershops. However I am getting a bit fed up with barbers who just know one cut and don't seem able to adjust it. eg 'Can you take it right away from my ears?' 'Sure boss' but it doesn't really happen. Some of it is just language difference but not all of it. Anyone got a barber who actually listens? I don't have much hair anymore, and a number 3 all round will do, but it would be nice to get a cut the way I like.

Yes Vintage Hair is excellent. The two sisters Mel and Chanel are great and friendly hairdressers and they are good at cutting men's hair too. Usually one stylist there at a time so nice small salon. I think they're closed on Mondays.
Will let Mr Abster know - he's been pondering a visit since it opened but we haven't seen any reviews!
I've been looking for the right barber/hairdresser for ages, and I've just found it. It's called Slims, it's down West Green Road towards Seven Sisters stations, it's excellent, it's friendly, and it's very cheap. Joaquin is a gent and didn't rush even though the cut was only £12. Highly recommended.
