Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The crops that are susceptible to watering have done pretty well.  Back before the heat wave, we had asparagus, strawberries, gooseberries and lettuces and now we are living on French climbing beans, cabbages, beetroot, courgettes and potatoes.  Also tomatoes and cucumbers are beginning to yield nicely - these are grown in troughs.  We have high hopes for the runner beans and the two squash plants grown from seed have suddenly burst into growth.

Unlike our big apple tree, both our fig tree and plum tree produced fairly good juicy crops, now all harvested.  Our damson tree is reaching the ideal time to pick the crop and they too look to be a good size.  Jam making has already started but will soon have to get serious unless we come up with some other idea for damsons.  Any suggestions gratefully received.
