Saw a certain someone's property on the market, which raises the question of HLS future - anyone have any insider info?

Not saying a word but I’m sure Paul will see this post.
Don’t want to speculate - hope all is well with the people behind the business - and by that measure - the business...
I saw a notice that they were recruiting a new member of staff a couple of weeks ago
I believe it's for personal reasons not business reasons .
Good spot, kotkas.
You are on the right track. We have indeed put our house on the market after making the much thought about decision to move home to Australia this year.
We've been in the UK for 16 years and feel it's finally time to return back to our family and friends (and the sun!).
In terms of what this means for the store - it is up for sale and we are hoping for a like-minded someone to take on the business and keep the HLS flag flying. We are super proud of what we created with Harringay Local Store and will do our very best to ensure you're left in good hands.

Ah what a shame - but understand the attraction of family, friends as well as lower density of dumped mattresses...
You should be super proud of what you have achieved. HLS is a case study for the potential of the high street - and that there can be more to Green Lanes than kebab shops and off licenses.
Hopefully you are successful in finding a like minded individual to take over the shop. No idea what the books look like but it carries a lot of positive equity with the local community (and beyond) so it's definitely an asset worth preserving - and expanding...
Not sure what avenues you are pursuing in terms of sale but it may be worth getting in touch with some existing operations in Crouch End/Stokey/Hackney who may have complementary product/supplier range and clientele who may be willing to take it on...
Best of luck in Australia - totally understand your decision.
Really hope you're able to find someone who can continue the great work you're doing with HLS. I will miss the incredible loaves we buy from there regularly, as well as the cherry ripes and tim tams :)
A few people had messaged me about the store being for sale - apologies I missed your messages. All replied to now. We're still for sale! Please get in touch with Ebony if you're interested in a career path of fine wine and cheese ;) ebony@harringaylocalstore.co.uk ..cheers.
