Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Fruit City is a growing map and network of all the fruit trees in public spaces in London. Logged and mapped by the Fruit City team and the general public.

Fruit City believe that a lot of the fruit from the trees in London goes to waste unpicked.

"What if we could get the most out of our London?", they ask, "Community orchards are popping up all over the city. Wouldn’t you like one in your park? Why ship a lorry of apples from Holland when they flourish in Barnet?"

Fruit City is not just a Map of trees, but an initiative to wake people up to the nature on their doorstep.  Their website has an extensive list of initiatives and schemes that are happening now. As well as recipes and uses for fruit that you may never had thought of.

And, let's see if we can get Harringay on the map, eh!

Does anyone know which part of the council I can ask to see the borough-wide register of what they've planted where in Haringey?

Attached is the Council's tree strategy - departments responsible listed towards the back.

This post also has contacts form a while ago for the tree officer. No idea if she's still there.
