Thanks for this Maddy. I have signed. When I was ward councilor for Harringay ward I did a lot of work to oppose Finsbury Park being used in this way. The whole policy needs a re-think.
Thanks Maddy. This item was mentioned to me yesterday by the Chair of The Friends of Finsbury Park (Kevin Duffy) and it is worrying.
I would put parks in the same bracket as libraries, as a basic council service, free to all comers.
So far, the council has done well to protect libraries and I give them credit for that. I cannot understand why parks are not subject to the same care and protection.
Residents might like to inspect today and this week, the (temporary) building site that has become "our" park.

I thought these concerts contributed to the upkeep of the park ? if so its the worst of two evils. Have I got it wrong.
as I understand it the money from the concerts doesn't go back into Finsbury Park as such, rather it contributes to the total budget for the upkeep of all parks in Haringey ....
I'm not sure, but I remember reading that Haringey doesn't make a great deal from these concerts, compared to the profits made by the promoters and the costs to the borough of repairing the damage done to the park during the concerts.
