Hi Steve,
I realise this is probably a very old thread by now, but could you please send me the details of the fridge freezer repairman you recommended?
Many thanks
Kumari
Hi Steve@Castles Steve - just finding this thread now, would you be able to send over the fridge-freezer electrician's details? Thanks so much! Becky
I recently posted a recommend for Glotech(google it) who offer a fixed price repair, with no extra charge if they haven't got the part with them. they return with the part and fit it at no extra labour charge.
Ditto. My fridge has gone cold on me, everything gets frozen solid. I've tried the recommended wiggling of the sensor but that's not done it. I'm reluctant to pay a big call-out charge and would even consider bringing it to a shop if I can find there is one.
16 months later. I fixed it, back then. Estimated repair costs by a travelling repair person, £150. New fridge, £200+. Pattern part thermostat off ebay, £5.95. Plus a couple of hours of my labour, watching youtube how-to-do-it videos then carefully removing and unthreading the old thermostat and putting in a new one. It comes with a long wire and and the sensor is on the far end, this has to sit behind the freezer plate in close contact. Take photos as you go as reminders.
So if this hadn't worked I'd lost £6 and gained a bit of learning. Really it's not difficult, just fiddly.

Hi Steve,
i do realise this is a very old thread but was hoping your guy is still around?
Or maybe somebody new has appeared in his place??
My Samsung big fridge/freezer has electricity going in but is not cold anymore...
it’s only just out of warranty as well (5years)!
Thanks,
Kris
