I have a fan that looks exactly like this, that stopped working. I took it to bits, couldn't see anything obviously wrong. The most common part to fail is the capacitor, which provides a start-up boost for the motor. There is loads of stuff online about it. You can easily get replacement capacitors online, and fitting them is only a matter of disconnecting the old one and connecting a new one.
Hi Christopher, thank you for the message and the information! Really useful as I couldn't work out what the problem could be (I didn't research too much to be fair)! I will definitely look into trying a replacement capacitor and see how that goes. Thanks for the tip!
Hi Jini - You're welcome to the info. If you take the fan apart, the motor and the capacitor are in the back of the bulbous bit at the rear of the whole thing. The capacitor in mine is a flat thing, about 2" square, with two connections. When I checked (year or so ago) you could get them on Amazon for about £5.00, but given all the shortages after the pandemic re-opening, they may be more. If you do decide to give repairing it a go, good luck! And post on here if you can to let us know if you fixed it.
