Free Leadership Workshops for young people with Haringey Stars

Starting on Saturday October 6, Haringey Stars will be holding Leadership Workshops for young people, to help develop their confidence and leadership skills as well as learning interpersonal skills and gaining experience of group interaction. All are welcome to attend.

The sessions will run every Saturday for ten weeks, lasting for four hours and will have a musical slant, allowing those attending to learn new skills and instruments, whilst working towards a common goal – namely, a free showcase concert on 8 December, managed, produced and performed by the young people involved in their local neighbourhood.

John Zavuga, Chief Executive of Haringey Stars, explained: “Following the success of our music workshops and showcase concert earlier this year we felt it was time to start offering young people the opportunities they may be lacking elsewhere, but we also understand it needs to be enjoyable which is where the music sessions come in!”

The new project has been generously funded by The Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All scheme. The Big Lottery Fund distributes half of the National Lottery good cause funding across the UK.  The Fund aims to enable others to make real improvements to communities and the lives of people most in need.

If you would like to book a slot on this free scheme, or find out more, please contact Linda-Marie Nakibuuka on  07508 702 432 or email the website.

Further information: Haringey Stars believes that through an interest in performing arts, young people can develop other skills and attributes, such as confidence and leadership skills, that will benefit them in all aspects of life.
