Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hello

Cat has been visiting me since last week. Keeps jumping through my first floor window. Very tame. Does not seem to be hungry so someone may be feeding it - I have been reluctant in case it confuses it - but it seems lost and if I put it out it comes back in a few hours. Young black and white female cat around 1 year old(?). No collar. Tried to put a collar on with my number but the cat took it off.

Please see picture and contact me if you have any info or advice. Much appreciated!

Hi Georgina

We recently moved to Black Boy Lane and the same cat has started visiting us frequently over the last couple of weeks. I took pity on her and let her in when it was cold and now she doesn't want to leave and just keeps coming back all the time. We have also been reluctant to feed her and she doesn't seem too hungry so I think she must be getting food somewhere. We have been looking online for any missing cats in the area and came across your post here. I was just wondering if you managed to find out who she belongs to or if she is still visiting you as well?

Many thanks, Pete

Hi Pete sorry I forgot to post an update before.

We found the owner of the cat. If it is the same one the cat is called Layla and lives at 13 Clarence road (road by the corner shop)

If it's the same cat it'd be worth popping over for a chat with her owner.

I still see the cat still comes to my window sometimes but I don't let her in now and she seems to have left me alone (probably because she has other friends to visit!)

Very cute and mischeveous cat!!

Hi Georgina. That's brilliant! Thanks for getting back to me.

I'm pretty certain it's the same cat from your photo. Adorable little thing!!

I will pop over and see Layla later and let her know.

Thanks so much for your help!

Well done, what a lovely cat. If you speak to the owner, it's worth giving useful advice from rescue places, in case anything might be relevant -

It's vital that cats are neutered and microchipped. They recommend that cats need a catflap - for access to the back garden plus they need catflap access to get back inside their home when they want. If cats don't have a catflap, they get stuck outside when owner out, which means cats are likely to wander looking for shelter. They advise locking the catflap at night so that cats are safe inside at night as it reduces the risk of them getting lost or injured. Remember not to let them out the front door by mistake.

Thank you. That's good advice. I will pass it on to the owner.
