Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Quick reminder for those about early in the morning (and in my case - those with young children!). The Flying Scotsman will be making it's first proper journey since being refitted tomorrow morning. It will leave Kings Cross at 7.40am and head up through Harringay Green Lanes and Ally Pally on its way to York. Keep your eyes open if you're up.

Thanks for the photo. At least it wasn't tacked on the end of the train like they often are. And DB Schenker, operator of the Flying Scotsman run and backup, turned out a very clean machine.

It wasn't hanging about!

Thanks for letting us know about this last night, it was a great experience to see this morning.

Plus thanks for the great photos, as we were regretting not taking any photos. Have joined the train group.

Really great to see it this morning, only disappointed that I opted for the Moorgate platform and then the 7.48am came in just as the Flying Scotsman was coming round the bend from Finsbury Park and blocked the view - still got a glimpse of it so worth getting up early.

How do you upload photos from your mobile phone? I have a lovely one.

Wow - great picture

Excellent, where was it taken?

At Harringay station.  I was surprised that there weren't hoards of people.  I did fiddle with the photo a bit just cropping it and making it a little brighter.  It was so thrilling!

Brilliant photo. Thanks for sharing.

That's a fantastic picture Kamila ( I never cease to be amazed by the quality of photos that can be taken on a phone!). I went to Ally Pally Station with my son before school - we've seen a few steam trains go through there previously as he's slightly obsessed! I left yesterday feeling I'd seen something very special, and he's not stopped talking about it since. He's done a bit of research, and apparently it will be passing through again in the Summer.

I'm sure many saw the story yesterday of someone who tweeted their video of the train passing, only for it to be obliterated by a Virgin Intercity passing on the nearside track. Apparently Richard Branson has offered the person involved a free holiday. Really nice gesture by someone who also provided alot of funding towards getting the Flying Scotsman back on the tracks.
