Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Quick reminder for those about early in the morning (and in my case - those with young children!). The Flying Scotsman will be making it's first proper journey since being refitted tomorrow morning. It will leave Kings Cross at 7.40am and head up through Harringay Green Lanes and Ally Pally on its way to York. Keep your eyes open if you're up.

Umm, *cough* Harringay station, not Harringay Green Lanes station, sorry, and thanks for posting the alert on the general forum for wider coverage.

More info on the Steam Train Watchers group area here - worth adding yourself as a member to get updates when anything new is posted.

Sorry - yes, not sure why I put Green Lanes! Wasn't aware of group, will add my name so can keep my *cough* young son informed!

Yes, wider forum post always good. Not everyone chooses to follow groups. Caught your comment this afternoon Gordon by chance. Thank you for the info.

Further publicised on 'The One Show' tonight - and they gave a riff at the end:

"Behind the barriers, not on the track[side], you know the drill".

According to the BBC website, the Scotsman was halted for 5 minutes because of spotters spilling onto the tracks ( not in Harringay, further on ). Also affected all regular trains sharing the same line. Hope it doesn't make things difficult for the steam operators in future.

Well said: I remonstrated yesterday with locals who moved to the bottom of the platform ramp at Harringay, well past the 'do not pass this point' sign (Flying Scotman running from York to London light engine), about that exact issue.....

Looks like they brought the paparazzi with them - three very loud helicopters filming (now filming it go past Hornsey)

Approaching Hornsey at some speed, accompanied by three helicopters...

Through Harringay . . .

 . . . the 'press' . . .

 . . . spare a thought for the help!
