Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Those getting Haringey / Facebook posts

Will have seen there is a Issue with people dumping rubbish around a Green phone Terminal Box.  In Ashley Crescent , junction of Pelham Road , Wood Green N22

Council have posted Wanted Notices around the Area of pictures of Offenders

And Notice they have now got the street Lights updated to LED's. Aware it is a catch up programme. To change All Street Lights to LED's. Saves power and offers better lighting

Real joke as most of the limited Litter Bins have bags of waste stacked around them these days

We read they / Council have issued large numbers of Fixed Penalty Fines

Asked many times how many have been paid and what happens to Funds. No Answer to date

I walked past a young chap yesterday who was stuffing a used drinks can between a green box and a wall on Stanmore Road.  I asked him why he was doing it and he said he’d finished his drink.  When I pointed out there was a litter bin, visible to both of us, perhaps 5 metres away, he shrugged and walked off.

Our road has never looked better - the cherry blossom and daffodils are out, and I've noticed the usual repulsive takeaway litter has been reduced almost to zero. It seems to me that even people who prefer to throw their waste on the ground are not immune to their consciences in the face of such spring beauty. I'm sure we'll be back to the usual tide half eaten kebabs in a few weeks though.

I often get Bottles cans etc stuffed in my Hedge or thrown in my Front Garden

Rubbish in Ashley Crescent has been waste Bin sized bags of Rubbish and Boxes

I use the Laundry Lordship Lane / Berners Road N22

Can not believe the amount of bags of rubbish that get placed around the Bin that got moved into Berners Road. Was there this week saw Road sweeper empty bin , but not the Bags, later saw scavenger Dust cart pass by and not collect the Bags. Joke on warmer days the rubbish really smells and attracts fly's. Yes I have reported it as a dumping site many times.

But seems to be the case where ever there is a waste bin or a Green Phone Junction Box

Joys of a Growing population and every other week Refuse Collections and growing numbers using fast food suppliers. With cartons etc

It’s annoying Bob but there is a real conundrum .

We have a property on my road that until recently dumped household goods on the pavement everytime the landlord relet one of the rooms.  I reported it, it got taken away and the landlord, not doubt thinking they were on to a good thing, dumped more stuff to have it removed for free.  I’m not saying that we shouldn’t report dumped rubbish but it seems like some people just love that someone else is doing the dirty work for them - and saving them money.
