Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

You'll soon have the luxury of a second burger outlet in Harringay.......for a while at least. Burger makers Flippin' Cow are running a pop-up kitchen at Jam in a Jar for a yet to be determined period.

Flippin' Cow started at Noel Park Market, with the assistance of local yoof interested in a career in restaurants.

It's not just an outfit with a standout name, Flipping' Cow is a burger business with a difference. Apparently the FC team travel to Scotland every week to work as volunteers on a farm. The aim, they say, is to understand the journey ‘farm to plate’.

Before they set off back to the big smoke, they choose cuts of meat they like the look of, which the students use to hone their butchery skills - and no doubt they also supply ingredients for FC Burgers.

Flipping' Cow in residence at JiJ will offer a selection of burgers including the Greedy Cow and Dirty Bird burgers. Bar snacks will also be on offer including spicy Buffalo wings and handmade black pudding scotch eggs.

Alongside your FC grub, grab a drink from the bar (including, I'm told, some amazing cocktails) and listen to the nightly music.

The pop-up kitchen at JiJ will enable the team to cover the costs of the students to equip them to the enter the world of professional kitchens.

I had a Flippin' Cow burger when they were at Broomfield Park this summer.  It was seriously good.

Vegetarian burgers are fantastic, too!

...and what about the veggies - 10% of the population you know - what do they serve for us? I go to JnJ quite a lot so I hope a new menu will have veggie options?
I had an encounter with the manager of M&S WG yesterday. The foreign national assistant had never heard
of ''nut roast' which they usually sell. I asked the manager(?) If they had any
And said 'you do know what nut roast is?' There's no need to be rude madam, of course I do... He then led me to the freezers at the back and pointed at the chesrnut stuffing .... at which point I gave up in despair (after a few caustic comments).... Why do meat eaters have such limited understanding about what veggies eat - I sometimes feel people are dismissive and irritated by my diet being different to theirs, we're off the radar and never referred to.
OK rant over

One thing I never understood is why people say 'what do you eat then?' when you think about all the fruit, nuts, grains and vegetables compared to the handful of animals people eat!...

I'm not sure that I get the last two comments. Rachella commented to say that the vegetarian burgers are great and that occasioned two pleas for vegetarian burgers/understanding. Am I missing something obvious?

missed Rachella's comment and was simply commenting on Sapphireblue's comment.

I am in fact now a meat eater... however spent my childhood answering the question of what do you eat then!
