For a few days in September, you can visit the 300-year-old New River Head in Islington. These unique 18th and 19th century buildings have been locked up for 70 years.
This will be pretty much the last chance to see it as it was since it is shortly to be converted to the the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration.
The buildings are on Amwell Street, about a 10-minute walk from Angel tube station.
The free tours run on Thur-Sun for two weeks between 8th and 18th September, and can be booked from here.

The 341 bus will take you very close from the Ladder - Finsbury Town Hall bus stop on Rosebery Avenue, then a short walk up Amwell Street to the back of the site.
Alternatively, there is a 360 degree virtual tour (not quite the same thing, I know) so you can get some idea of what's still there after all the years/centuries (the windmill base dates back to the early 1700s I think).
Virtual tour here - https://www.qbcentre.org.uk/take-a-tour
But it, and its spinoffs, are very slow to load.
