Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

There was apparently quite a major fire near Turnpike Lane tube station last night - we live a few roads down and could even smell the smoke even behind closed doors. Does anyone know which building it was, what started it and what the damage was?

i thought someone was barbequeing

Apparently it was a three story shop on Wood Green High Road. Does anyone have any idea what shop it was?

From that article - “A staircase leading from the ground to the first floors was also badly damaged by fire.”

I seriously hope this was not a repeat of the piled up mattresses covered in petrol at the bottom of the stairs that we had on Green Lanes last year. Wasn't that 22 people rescued from above one shop?

Apparently the building was set alight for a second time, last night, i.e. just one day later.
