Fire in Kimberley Gardens
Does anyone know what happened?
We saw two police vans and a vehicle recovery truck on Green Lanes, followed by two fire engines, and then later saw the gutted house on Kimberley Gardens after a house fire.
Wondering why the police vans and vehicle recovery truck were needed for a house fire. I hope everyone in the house was ok.

I was just going to post about this, went past this morning on my way out, flat has been totally gutted, thankfully no one was hurt but a neighbour there showed me pictures of the fire blazing- it was massive
scary stuff, seems the people who lived there moved out 2days before, luckily the neighbour in the ajoining flat was fine, but still shaken, part of her flat had been hit by the fire she said as well
Thhe firebrigade came to mine yesterday morning to replace my smoke alarms, and also gave some really good advice about reducing risks- people please make sure you do this, if you havent already

I passed by today and neighbours told me the fire was only in the front garden, caused by someone rifling though the (huge amounts) of rubbish with a lighter. Does anyone know if this is true?

Well that is the word but as neighbours there who witnessed it said,how would that cause such a big fire. The building is meant to be a mess inside, and they have had to board building up..and the neighbour I spoke to. to adjoining flat said even herflat had been affected.o

I saw it before it was boarded up and the inside of the house was gutted.

Just to add Veolia and the Council have acted brilliantly dealing with this, by clearing up this devastation. This questions the issue of storing such items in front gardens causing eye sores for residents for weeks if not months on end and of course causing serious environmental hazards for neighbours. I think storing such materials should be revued and needs to be disposed of from the site immediately reducing any such risks. About 10 years ago I was living in Finsbury Park and many front yards were used as skips. Then someone started setting fire to them. That stopped it.
From seeing the aftermath of one such fire, a front yard fire can definitely cause enough mess to the ground floor that it is boarded up and uninhabitable for many weeks.

We live opposite. The fire started at about 9:30pm and originate from the rubbish that had been piled up in the front garden. It was small to begin with but the wind really too hold of it. Someone tried to control it with a fire extinguisher but it got out of control really quickly. What was really frightening was that people on either side did not vacate their properties. We were shouting at them to get out but they just stayed at the window.
