Fire at Vue Cinema, Wood Green

Firefighters attended the Vue Cinema in Wood Green after a blaze started ripping through the roof of the building.

Large plumes of smoke were seen filling the sky as the large Hollywood sign perched on top of the roof was seen ablaze at around 2pm.

London Fire Brigade said the two floors of the cinema were evacuated this afternoon and that no one was injured.

The fire has now been extinguished, confirmed the the brigade.

Unconfirmed reports say eyewitnesses in shops nearby saw people throwing canisters at the building.
