Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Finsbury Park is set to host three music festivals this summer - but only if Haringey Council agree to grant them a licence.

Two of the events, the London Feis and the Big Issue Festival, both to be hosted by the same music promoter Vince Power, will take place on the same weekend and are likely to draw in crowds in their tens of thousands.

London Feis, set to take place on Saturday, June 18, is bidding for a 11.15pm booze licence, while the Big Issue Festival on Sunday, June 19, is aiming to sell alcohol until 10.15pm.

Residents have until Friday, March 25, to comment on the applications.

Bob Dylan has already been confirmed as the headline act for London Feis, while other musicians including rockabilly star Imelda May and Irish folk stars The Fureys are also set to appear.

Meanwhile the Newroz Festival has been granted a live music and dance licence until 7pm for the annual event on Sunday, March 27.

A panel of councillors agreed to the scheme at a meeting last Thursday, but on the condition noise levels are carefully controlled and no tickets are sold on site.

Organisers for the Kurdish festival are also required to station at least 20 bouncers across the park and ensure banned political symbols are not displayed on site.

excellent!...i love a bit of live music!

...but can i request that the police do not station a bloody helicopter hovering right above my house all day like they did for the Rage Against The Machine concert...talk about nuisance and noise pollution!...the music and crowds were no problem, but the policing spoilt my day!
