Feeding the 5000 is once again gearing up to take over Trafalgar Square, on Friday 18th November from 12pm - 2pm.
This event would be completely impossible without the energy, goodwill and enthusiasm of volunteers.
Please come and help make a free lunch for five thousand people, all made from food that would otherwise be wasted. There will be a public 'pledge' to encourage the public and food businesses to cut food waste across the supply chain, so the more attendees the better.
Following the success of the last Feeding the 5000, which helped change government and supermarket policies and raised the profile of charities addressing food waste, this year there will be even more: cooking demonstrations, apple pressing, and live pigs eating leftover pulp. But volunteers are needed to help with everything from chopping vegetables to collecting signatures to pressing apples.
If you are available on any day from 15th November - 18th November, or have some spare time from the 12th November, and would like to volunteer, please contact Deborah, the Volunteer Co-Ordinator at deborah@feeding5k.org or hello@feeding5k.org
