Yes housing in London is much more expensive than 15 years ago but it's also of a much better quality. Even the recent modernisations done in Harringay by developers, whilst not perfect, are still going for a more sophisticated buyer.

I used to live in the flats next door to this amazing house - the conservatory was redone around 2000 ish when it changed hands, previously it had the original huge Victorian conservatory - completely dilapidated but beautiful.

I absolutely love the interiors, all those split levels, timber floors and scandi decor... been showing it to the hubby as well hoping he will build something like this for me one day (he's a nearly qualified architect)... *sigh*
