Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

THOSE punters with Facebook accounts may wish to review their settings. On one hand, there seems to be a lot more control possible. On the other hand, casual users might be surprised at the some of Facebook's new default settings.

In order to justify their new-found public listed status, the company IMO now appears to be more of a vehicle to suck information from their large user base - not necessarily to members' advantage.

Below, it appears that the company may in future, give third parties (ie. advertisers) the ability to use your name or picture in adverts - unless you elect to opt out. I see this as wrong in principle and a cheeky change from the basis on which millions  of users joined in the first place.

The principle ought to be, to allow punters to choose to opt in and not, to oblige punters to have to elect to opt out.
