Hello!
We need to re-cover some kitchen chair cushions and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for any locals shops that sell good sturdy, suitable material / fabric. Traditional or more modern patterns, happy to look at anything really.
Many thanks
James

Hi, I have a length of Ikea fabric that I was intending to do exactly that with. You're welcome to just take it if you're interested?
Raystitch on Essex Road has gorgeous fabrics, but expensive. Rolls and Rems on Seven Sisters at Holloway is a much cheaper option, with a wide range of different fabrics. Or you could try Walthamstow market which apparently has several fabric stalls - though I've never managed to get there.
A market stall in wood green market through The Mall sells loads of fabrics.
Hi,
I would recommend:
Happy sewing :)
I got brilliant, loud and colourful material from the shops along Walthamstow market. Look out for the shops that sell lengths of cloth meant for traditional west African clothing. You need to go for good strong cotton as some of the stuff is more light weight dress fabric.
I’ve used light weight sari material as curtains by just looping it over a rail. A pair for a tenner! There are also shops that sell more traditional fabric and you can get some real end of roll bargains. Bus straight from Turnpike Lane station.
This is not so local, North Finchley but easy enough to get to by car.... but it is a treasure trove of fabric for all sorts of uses.

The stall in Wood Green is brilliant and they're super helpful. If you want a bigger choice there's an Aladdin's Cave of a shop on Ridley Road Market, Dalston Mill Fabrics, there's rooms and rooms of stuff - again the guys in there are very helpful
