Self-taught artist Ben Robson recently celebrated his 96th birthday. His sketches of Tottenham, beginning over half a century ago, depict everyday life as he saw it during his working day. Some of the buildings and road junctions have since been altered or demolished. As such this body of work adds to a wider pictorial record of the past. Aside from the context of local history, each individual piece remains equally delightful in itself.
Although Ben Robson has exhibited on a number of occasions over the years, this is the first exhibition of his work to be held at Bruce Castle Museum.
