Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I received a letter from Haringey Council last week illustrating the route the torch will be coming through and I became very excited that it will be carried past Lordship Rec near where I live. No wonder they've started working overtime to make the front of the park presentable in time for the last leg.
Now all I need to figure out is whether I'll need to pull a sickie on the day or not....

Anyone else who lives on the route and is thinking of watching it?

I hope he isn't either! Everyone is being encouraged to wear white to create a strong visual impact. Better dig out that old t shirt....

I couldn't say, since I haven't received Haringey's route map. Maybe Hugh could post it ?

Found this which helps

High Road A1010 - Right Turn Bruce Grove A10 - Left Turn Lordship Lane A109 - Left Turn High Road A105
Turnpike Lane A504
High Street A504
Priory Road A504 - Right Turn
Haringey Alexandra Palace Way - Left Turn
Haringey Evening Celebration

Looks about right against the really badly illustrated map I've had posted through.

The route looks right but if you go to the Olympic site here http://www.london2012.com/torch-relay/route/ and put in your postcode it says 25 July with a 17:23 start time. Whether that is for the actual torch bearing or the event at Ali Pally I'm not sure.

See my post here for the precise route / timings.

Ta.

Apparently it will be coming through sometime between 5.30 and 6.30 so you might not need to pull the sickie

Sounds great - I am definitely going. And thanks Hugh for precise timings...

Taslima, if I were you I would either delete this conversation or just say you were joking (you were, weren't you?) about the sickie. Your current and future employers will be able to see this post if they google your name..... Just a thought....

Thanks for the tip. I was joking....just a bit of harmless banter.
