Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

With energy prices already being very high I have decided to shop around for the best deal fixed or non fixed to heat our house.  I was wondering whether anyone has done that and found any good deals around?

Thx!

I used this to choose the best switch. Look for long term price fixes rather than lowest tariff. Took me no longer than 10 mins to change provider. Easy peasy. http://www.guardianenergycomparison.co.uk/guardian_offers/fri/Domes...

I've never seen this before: what a great link. I've just switched providers and saved £370 p/a!

Thanks very much.  Scottish Power worked out for me (I hope).  I Fixed until March 2015 and saved about £150 per year and probably more as my current supplier is yet to hike their prices.

By the way, It's also easy to change bank. There's lots about this out there for instance... http://www.which.co.uk/money/bank-accounts/guides/finding-the-right...

Have you tried this scheme by the council? http://www.haringey.gov.uk/switch

You can probably get a better deal shopping around on comparison sites, and as Charlotte says the next auction is on hold so you'll be waiting until new year to see what the next 'offer' is though the London-wide council consortium that Seema flagged up. I switched to M&S Energy last month on a fixed 12 month tariff. It was the best deal then but I think it has ended now. Try uSwitch for comparisons.

I have been signed up for the switch scheme with the council, but the last auctions did not come up with a better deal for me and the last auction was put on hold I believe. I have always been really bad at switching, mainly because it has slipped my mind as I was busy. But a few minutes really can save a lot of money. I saved a bundle recently by switching insurance company.
